Sawasdee ka!!!
Hello!!
It’s culture day here at training camp on the World Race campus and we were assigned THAILAND! This basically means that we follow the common customs of the Thai people to get used to integrating into cultures respectfully. For Thailand specifically, this looks like greeting others in Thai with the ending of your greeting (ka or kap) based on the speakers gender, bowing upon greeting, no shorts, and sitting in a way that the bottoms of your feet don’t face out because they are considered disgraceful.
we do all this while going throughout our normal day here at camp!
…but Teagan?? What’s considered normal at camp?? You haven’t blogged for a few days??…
Let me tell you!!
We spend our days here in worship, in sessions, eating, and in community discussions. Everything we learn and do is meant to better equip us for the mission field and connect us with our savior. We have a squad which is all 22 of us going out on the race to these specific countries. We also have a team which is a group of 5 girls for me (plus one squad leader) who will be serving and working closely together while on the field. Each person I have met here is such an incredible blessing to me and I love each of them DEEPLY.
PRAISE GOD!!
We will be spending about another week here in training before heading out to domestic mission work in Georgia for a week. After that is finished we will come back to camp, debrief and prepare for a few more days, and then it’s off to GREECE!!
…
PRAYER REQUESTS:
I ask that you all pray for our hosts in Greece as they prepare to receive us. I pray that we will be a blessing to them rather than a hindrance and we would be equipped to join them in the incredible work they are already doing overseas.
I ask your prayer over the squad as we grow into the purpose God has for us on this trip. I pray for boldness over every person as we learn to step out into our callings more fully. I pray off any spirit of fear or contention between us as a team.
Thank you SO MUCH all for coming alongside me in prayer and support!!
God Bless!!
